Thank you Nana and Papa for finding a crib for us when Madie first needed one. It was nice to have. Unfortunately, after someone who shall remain nameless broke a piece of hardware on the drop-side board of the crib, and now that Madie is standing up and holding on to said drop-side, we've had to get creative to keep it up properly.
| Exhibit A: Jimmy-rigged crib. |
The second time we set it up--when we moved out here to California--we had to even make some holes with the screws just to get it to work right!
So, we took a look on Craigslist and found a new crib! After, of course, someone else had given away a crib she had promised us. No hard feelings though! As it turns out, she didn't have any hardware for her crib and we would have had to go to a hardware store and load up on screws, etc. Not to mention she lived a ways away from us. So it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We looked again on Craigslist and found a crib, already disassembled, with all the hardware, in a dark cherry stain just waiting for us! She was selling it for $75 and we got it for $50! It's probably 30 pounds lighter than the old crib and the bedding fits it better too.
But of course, the main thing is, Madie likes it.

I love the crib - it looks very nice! And I love that cute little cheezy smile! What a doll.
