The Reception

More wedding photos! These are ones Selena took at the Maine reception. I LOVED the black and whites that Galen took (he was the one who was actually working, but Selena had her camera and took a few snapshots) but it's fun to see the colors of the reception too.

This is Dad and me starting the dancing. Mike and Bryan are chatting in the background, and behind them you can see the table of family wedding pictures from weddings past. It was cool to see all the pictures of my parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts & uncles, and those on Mike's side too. I love the lanterns. They really have a nice effect here.

Levi and Todd G. Oh how the men in my family wish they could grow beards like Todd's. Alas, they are stuck with the same patchy-scruff Levi has. Oh well, he pulls it off fairly well.

Eating the cake. I forgot how good that lemon was until I bit into that piece. Both Mike and I said later our mouths started watering directly. I really hope it hasn't burned in the freezer for the past few months. If we had known how, we would have just brought it west with us.
I'll be honest, I loved my flowers! Spray roses, big roses, and snap dragons with ivy wrapped all through it. These weren't the ones I took all over Boston with me, those I just arranged myself, and if I had known how well I could make a simple bouquet, I would have saved a lot of money, but I did love these so much. I have them dried and framed up on my wall now. I'll have to buy some sealant or something before moving back to my beloved humidity.

Sam's Call

Mum and Levi react as Sam opens his call to the Hawai'i, Honolulu mission. He entered the MTC on October 15th.

I wasn't able to be there, since we were at the bed and breakfast while the family set up for the reception. I'm so glad Selena thought to snap these shots.

Just thought I'd throw this in, so everyone would know after the fact that Levi had breathed, and possibly drooled, on the cake prior to us eating it. I am so glad I didn't know this before hand.

THEEEEY'RE HEEEERE!

Selena just sent the rest of our wedding pictures! Sorry it's been so long, but she has been so busy with her traveling and dance schedules, I'm just impressed she got them done! I certainly wouldn't have!

Here we are, outside the Belmont, Boston, Mass. temple, after all the family pictures, and we were able to just walk around on the lawn.

Things That Make Me Smile

In response to Ave's tag, and just because it's a good thing to dwell on:

1. When I tell people Mike makes me breakfast every morning - even on the weekends sometimes!
2. Bar Harbor's Village Green - year round.
3. Libraries, especially old ones with all their little nooks and crannies.
4. When people say something hilariously funny, but say it so quietly that you have to be paying attention specifically to them to pick up on it, so often you're the only one listening. It's like an inside joke, but better!
5. 4th of July, St. Patrick's, Thanksgiving, and New Years...and of course, Benito Juarez Day. Forever.
6. Certain parts of high school, especially anything to do with Lisa or L. H., because they were so cool, and anything to do with Char, because she was so blonde--in the Filipina sense, I guess.
7. Thinking about dances with Lurson to Gloria Estefan in high school. TOO BAD THERE ARE NO GOOD HOME VIDEOS OF IT.
8. House-dreaming with Mike.
9. Cooking/baking things I know people like: lemon squares, cheese cake, crepes.
10. Music, especially the home-made variety.
