Ocean fun

One disadvantage to living in a rural area is the lack of museums and exhibits to take the kids to. One advantage to living on Mount Desert Island is we have a laboratory that specializes in marine life just a couple of miles away. Once a year, MDIBL opens their doors to the public and displays their aquariums, put on some games, and offer some crafts for kids.
Madie had so much fun, but who wouldn't when you eat ice cream, gold fishes, and candy (all treats in our home)? She loved watching the shark tank the most, but also had fun making silly putty and running around on the labs private pier that looks over Salisbury cove.
Finn was content eating the gold fishes, and touching star fish! Almost like the Monterey Bay Aquarium, only 1/50 the size, and free.
